About StAR
The Stolen Asset Recovery Initiative is a partnership between the World Bank Group and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) that supports international efforts to end safe havens for corrupt funds.
Our Mission
StAR uses the leverage of both partner organizations to support international efforts to deny safe havens for stolen assets and promote asset recovery. StAR aims to achieve this through its country, knowledge and policy work. Our focus on the cross-cutting themes of effective communications and building strong partnerships with other organizations augment the effects of our core functions.
